Tell the University of the South to rescind their honorary doctorate from Eric Metaxas
The Issue
On 7/27/2020, well-known conservative Christian author Eric Metaxas tweeted that “Jesus was white” and used white supremacist undertones to shame the UMC for training their people on issues of white privilege.
The University of the South, an official university of the Episcopal Church (a progressive denomination), should rescind their honorary doctorate from Metaxas in support of racial justice and just pure good theology (Jesus wasn’t white, and saying so supports white supremacy).
