The chemistry department here at UTK has been under fire for years, and nothing has changed. People every year stress way more than they should about a Gen Ed class that should not even be required for most majors. Dr. Yang many times has also had some issues within her class. I have witnessed these issues and she legitimately said its not her problem she just isn't going to give you points because, and this is a quote that is recorded, she already spends an hour grading a day and does not want to do more. This should not be how our professors at UTK should be. This is the most difficult class I have taken so far, and i can't even imagine how the freshman feel. The chem department treats this course like its the only one you are taking that semester. I am taking 18 hours and also have multiple labs. This is long overdue and there needs to be change. A professor who has been on probation and a department on probation, with NO change, should not be in charge of a "weed out" course. This is ridiculous UTK fix this, I did not pay all this money to pull my hair out because you can't fix the chem department with 15 years of issues.
