We, the undersigned students of the University of Stirling,

Demand compensation of our Tuition Fees for every paying student who loses lecture, seminar and access to faculty staff due to the upcoming strike action from the 26nd of February to the 20th of March 2018.

We, the students of the University of Stirling, feel that it is fair and just that we are compensated for the loss of 14 days of our education. The magnitude of the proposed strikes is unjustifiable and will be damaging to all students.

Annual Fees are;

-          Scottish resident Fees: £1,820 (fees might be covered by

           educational sponsors such as SAAS)

-          Rest of UK Student Fees: £9,000  

-          Overseas Student Fees: £12,140

If the University is unable to reimburse us for the service we are paying for, something needs to be done to alleviate the consequences of the strike. But we hope that it does not need to come to this and a resolution can be sought between both parties before strike action takes place.

This is not to suggest that we, as students at Stirling, are not in full support of the strike and we, of course, stand in solidarity with our tutors and lecturers alike. However, this support does not overshadow the serious disruption this will cause to our studies.
