Of the many great professional athletes from Texas, few show the true nature and power of Texans quite like Stone Cold Steve Austin. The six-time WWF champion dominated professional wrestling for years, speaking truth to power in the form of his historic feud with WWE CEO Vince McMahon and gave nearly everyone in professional wrestling a Stone Cold Stunner. The Texas Rattlesnake shows what happens if one decides to break The Lone Star State’s mantra and decided to foolishly mess with Texas. 

And despite University of North Texas’ many famous alumni, never once has Stone Cold, who played football for the college in 1986, ever been asked once to be a graduation commencement speaker. As he’s nothing short of a national treasure and legend in the squared circle, the lack of a Stone Cold appearance in any UNT graduation ceremony is disappointing as a North Texas alumni myself. 

I’m petitioning the University of North Texas to give Stone Cold a hell yeah and let him be the commencement speaker at a UNT graduation ceremony. Which college he’s a speaker for can be debated among UNT faculty, but I’m simply petitioning that he’s able to speak at a ceremony.
