All students who study Animal/Human sciences, my capstone is to allow teachers and students of the medical fields at the University of Maine to have access to a 3D printer. Engineers of all types have access because engineers are the only ones who have a use for 3D printers RIGHT? WRONG!!!!! As more engineer buildings go up, the agricultural technology fields are struggling. No one wants to buy a new door for the barn, when in two years, we probably won't have a barn anymore. I doubt many of you knew that there is a barn on campus. Teaching medical students requires models for us to practice on. 3D printers are a perfect way to learn what ligament goes where, and what artery to avoid in surgery. At the University of Maine, there are 14 printers, including the one that made the largest 3D printed object, (a boat). If we could pull together and add a 3D printer to the human and animal science's curriculum, it would help educate future students with more precise demonstrations of anatomy
