Students at the University of Lethbridge (especially those living on campus) are being forced to pay outrageous prices for food. Over the last 2 months attending the University I have witnessed fellow students being served dangerously raw chicken, poor quality food in general, with laughable portion sizes. (There was a sliver of cake for $9.99 the other day.) With the UHall Tim Hortons and Subway being shut down, Urban Market is the only choice for students and I’m especially sympathetic for those paying about $4500 on top of tuition only to be robbed of proper food at a liveable price. I have even overheard professors at the University complain about the prices and portions at Urban (saying they’ve started bringing their own food since it’s such a ripoff) which should speak volumes considering many students have no choice. Students are paying extremely high prices for lacklustre, and at times, inedible food. ULeth needs to do better. This petition was created for students to advocate for themselves as many cannot even boycott Urban Market considering it is their only food source. Please sign if you think the University of Lethbridge needs to change the quality, quantity, and/or price of food they are serving to students. Thank you!!
