To the University of Lethbridge Administration,

We, the undersigned students, are writing to you today to express our deep concern regarding the ongoing genocide of Indigenous peoples in Palestine and the recent instances of violent suppression of student protests at other universities in Alberta. As an institution committed to truth and reconciliation, we demand the University of Lethbridge take immediate and unequivocal action to address these critical matters, foremost through divestment from companies and investments complicit in perpetuating the genocide of Palestinians.

In alignment with our university's stated commitment to decolonization and Indigenization, as well as the principles outlined in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), we demand that the University of Lethbridge:

• Disclose all institutional and financial investments with companies financially complicit in the genocide of Palestinians.
• Divest from complicit companies and all such investments.
• Defend the right to protest by granting amnesty to any and all participants joining in this call.
• Declare via an immediate public statement its condemnation of this genocide and call on the Canadian government to cease all military contracts with Israel.

Moreover, we are appalled by the recent reports of egregious use of force by authorities at the University of Alberta and University of Calgary against peaceful student protesters. We therefore demand that the University of Lethbridge:

• Publicly denounce the use of militarized police violence against peaceful student protesters by the administrations of the University of Alberta and University of Calgary. 
• Exert pressure on the University of Alberta and University of Calgary administrations to engage in immediate dialogue with student protesters to address their demands.
• Demand the immediate resignation of University of Alberta President Bill Flanagan and University of Calgary President Edward McCauley for their failure to uphold students' charter-protected right to protest and for facilitating the brutalization of their own student body.

We vehemently reject any use of our tuition fees to fund genocide and the brutal suppression of Indigenous peoples. We demand immediate action to align our university's financial practices with principles of justice and human rights our institution holds dear. 

Silence is complicity, and we refuse to be complicit in the face of such atrocities.
