Momma and Lear are two friendly stray cats that have been living on campus for over 4 years and have provided much love and companionship to students and staff members alike. This sudden change of heart that the University of Houston had to threaten their lives is saddening and not the UH I know. 

When we had a stray dog on campus our president adopted her and she has now become a celebrity when brought on campus. Can these cats get the same love and care as Ruby did when she was once a stray? 

There are so many other options to help these cats other than killing them. Everyone who has signed this petition wants their lives to be spared. There are so many animal rights groups and shelters in Houston that would love to help give care to these cats and potentially a new and loving home, just like Ruby got when she was rescued off-campus.
