Petition to Reform the College of Business at the University of Central Florida

Petition to Reform the College of Business at the University of Central Florida
The Issue
The purpose of this petition is to reform the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida. Currently, business students are REQUIRED to take Reduced Seating Format classes for many of the offered courses in the majors. Reduced Seating entails that students do not have access to a traditional Face-to-Face lecture. Instead, students are offered five Face-to-Face group activities per semester. The remainder of the learning material is posted as short-segmented lecture videos, individual reading, and studying. To allow these course structures to continue, business students are also REQUIRED to pay a distance learning fee for all their Reduced Seating format classes. This is unfair due to the fact that many students did not choose to take this type of class format. Students are being forced to pay more than traditionally taught students, and COBA students are expected to essentially teach themselves. The overall goal of this petition is to help convince the UCF Administration to offer some choices for students or even assist in some solutions to make the format more beneficial. Reduced Seating can still be offered to those who wish to take it, but the COBA should still be required to offer traditional Face-to-Face lectures (lecture capture or not). This petition was forged in order to bring to light the dissatisfaction from a vast number of business students. If you want to see some changes and solutions so that we can get the proper education we all strive for then sign this petition.
