Online examination for 3rd year 1+1+1 students under Calcutta University

Online examination for 3rd year 1+1+1 students under Calcutta University

The Issue

The world has gone through the pandemic and education systems are arguably one of the worst hit departments as a result of it. We, the 3rd year students under the 1+1+1 system, have mostly relied on private tuitions - of course the ones who could afford it, for our final year studies as the majority of colleges haven't taken initiatives for online classes. Moreover, the overcrowded public transport of the city poses serious health threats to thousands of students while they will visit exam centers if the University conducts offline exams, adding to it is the issue that a large number of PGs where outstation students used to live haven't been open yet, along with all the hostels. Most of the government job exams are also scheduled in the months of April-May hence late examinations will cost us a valuable year more before we can apply for them. In addition to all these major difficulties, we would like to point out that we, the repeat students have largely been neglected in the public addresses made by our honorable education minister and the university. Hence, we hereby place our demand in front of the authority to shed some light on us and conduct our final year examinations under 1+1+1 system in online mode, as soon as possible.
