Brighton University, East Sussex, UK - Stop using animals in experimental research.
The Issue
The University of Brighton, East Sussex, UK use mice and guinea pigs in cruel experiments. Animals are held in captivity within the university laboratories and subjected to painful experimental research.
Research includes force feeding pregnant mice with alcohol to test what damage is done to the foetus when pregnant women drink. The mice and their babies are all killed.
Guinea pigs and mice have their ear drums mutilated and are made deaf. They are injected in their ears with drugs and extreme noise is forced on them to see if their hearing can be restored. It can't and they are killed.
Over 1,000 mice are bred and killed so their tissues can be used in research.
We are asking the university to stop using animals in their experimental research and to instead progress to viable alternative and ethical methods of science that will not only bring more reliable results but also show that this university has taken a moral stance not to exploit and inflict suffering on any animals for any reason.
The signatures on this petition represent the people who want this animal abuse to end.
