UAH has cancelled ANOTHER graduation (3rd commencement) to be exact. Due to the current pandemic, this university thinks that a safe graduation cannot be held. Yet UNA, UAB, UA, Auburn, USA, and multiple other colleges/universities have held graduations safely. Whether it be through splitting up the colleges, mask mandates, limiting the amount of guests allowed per student, and even outdoor graduations! 

I don’t think virtual ceremonies show honor or respect to the students who have worked 4+ years to earn a degree. Especially through a computer screen. Being able to walk at a graduation is much more than receiving a handshake and a diploma, it’s proof that working hard all those years is paying off. 

Please consider signing this petition, and showing UAH that Huntsville has plenty of places to have a safe commencement.
