Due to the COVID-19 changing the structure of classes for this spring semester, we as students feel that it’s fair for our institution to reevaluate the grading scale on which we are held to since ALL classes don’t qualify for the pass or fail option for this spring semester. At home environments and circumstances are not always conducive for students to perform their best academically, and due to a substantial amount of quizzes and tests now being taken at home, a vast majority of students have not done well. The home environment, resources, and support is not the same and some professors have taken this time of hardship to make their courses even more difficult assuming that all students are at home, and just leisurely on vacation, when in fact some students are working full time, have toxic or unhealthy home environments , the lack of resources to be successful, or are struggling with mental illness and other medical issues.
