Hello everyone as you all may know, there is currently a pandemic going on. UTSA and their President, Taylor Eighmy, have instructed for all students(who are able to under certain criteria) living on campus to move out ASAP in which leases were terminated  and prorated refunds were given. As a result University Oaks Housing which is an on campus apartment complex gave their residents(students) an option to move out. In response many students with an obligation and responsibility to their community decided to move out to be with their loved ones as any normal human being would do. However, Uoaks has now decided to go back on their word by planning to continue charging students, NOT release them from their leases and most importantly not communicate properly with their residents during a time of crisis! Many of us have lost our jobs, are facing major hardships, and are overall extremely worried as to what will happen to us now and in the future. This is an abuse of power, a disregard towards human rights, and just overall wrong but is only the tip of the glacier in regards towards problems in the pasr and lack of empathy towards residents.

University Oaks General Manager, Laura B. Nadeau has stated they will not be “releasing leases unless instructed to do so by UTSA” Meaning the only solution is for UTSA to instruct them to release our leases! 

So I call unto those who have also been done wrong by Uoaks in the past, those with morals, the people, the students, those facing any hardships during this crisis. Help your fellow people and please sign this petition, and to stand with us against this greedy, inconsiderate corporation. Thank you and Go runners!
