Universal, Illumination, and Fox: Make a "Dr Seuss Cinematic Universe"
The Issue
Recommendations For A "Dr Seuss Cinematic Universe":
It should include "Horton Hears A Who"[2008], "The Lorax"[2012], and any future animated films & shorts(See below!) that are based on Dr Seuss stories, including the planned animated film adaptations of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "The Cat In The Hat". All Dr-Seuss-related stories should be adapted for this continuity, including all of those written by Dr Seuss that have been released posthumously and all of those written by other authors in the years after Dr Seuss's death.
The home video releases of future animated films based on Dr Seuss stories should include animated shorts based on Dr Seuss stories that are more suited to be given short film adaptations than full-length film adaptations, such as "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish", "Fox In Socks", and "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street".
A new cut of "The Lorax"[2012] should be made that removes all of the pop culture references and replaces them with new dialogue, and removes all of the songs sung by characters, except "How Bad Can I Be?". If any of the 3 "The Lorax" shorts contain pop culture references, then those should be removed and replaced with new dialogue.
The planned animated film adaptation of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" should have the best elements of the animated TV special and the live-action film, as well as the tie-in video game to the live-action film. The portrayal of the Grinch in the animated film should be an amalgam of the portrayals of the Grinch from the animated TV special and the live-action film.
The planned animated film adaptation of "The Cat In The Hat" should have the best elements of the animated TV special and the live-action film, as well as the tie-in video game to the live-action film. The portrayal of the Cat in the animated film should be an amalgam of the portrayals of the Cat from the animated TV special and the live-action film.
