Note: In order to keep things simple, I will refer to controller buttons by their Playstation names.

Cutscenes should be pausable, rewindable, and fast-forwardable.

In addition to being able to play as Jack Driscoll and Kong, there should be unlockable characters(both humans and monsters(including underwater monsters)), including Skull Islanders(natives from Skull Island), that can be played as in story mode free-roaming(after finishing the story) and in online multiplayer, both on Skull Island and in New York City. Underwater monsters should be able to roam through all of Skull Island's rivers & streams, and should be able to roam through the ocean area that surrounds New York City. Many different types of online play should be available, including a type of online play where players are able to form groups that are either alliance-specific, neutral-specific, or all-inclusive. Players should be able to create multiple custom monsters that can be used for online multiplayer and free-roaming in story mode(after finishing the story).

After players beat the story mode for the first time, a quick-travel option should be unlocked, as should a mission selection option that allows players to re-play a specific mission from the story and either continue on in the story from there or just play said mission.

There should be a freeflow combat system for when playing as a monster.

Both 3rd-person & 1st-person perspectives should be usable for any playable characters, with customizable options like in the enhanced version of "Grand Theft Auto 5". Changing between 1st-person & 3rd-person perspectives and selecting which of the customizable options will be used should be done under "Options" in the pause menu. Obviously, the 1st-person perspective should turn off when a monster is in a freeflow combat situation and then turn back on after the freeflow combat situation has ended.

Tools(firing weapons, bladed weapons, spears, shields, explosives, and huge logs(for Kong)) & special abilities(forward charge attacks(for humans and monsters), roaring(for monsters), biting(for monsters), fury mode(for monsters), etc) for characters should be selected by pressing the Up D-Pad button and pressing the X button after highlighting the chosen tool or special ability.

All firing weapons should have rapid fire and bladed weapons, spears, shields, explosives, & huge logs(for Kong) should be able to be thrown rapidly, held by characters after being selected, and used while being held by pressing the Square button.

Aiming should be done with the L2 button, while firing & throwing should be done with the R2 button.

Jumping should be done by pressing the X button and superjumping(which should be able to be done rapidly) for characters capable of it should be done by holding the X button.

Punching/kicking should be done with the Square button.

Wing stuns(for monsters like terapusmordaxes and pterosaurs), which should be like the cape stuns of the "Batman: Arkham" games, should be done by pressing the Circle button.

Combat-rolling(which should be able to be done rapidly) should be done by holding the Circle button.

The countering of enemy attacks in freeflow combat situations should be done by pressing the Triangle button.

Pressing the R3 button should cause a human to hold up a shield from the tool selection while using a non-shield tool. When this feature is used, the character should be able to hit objects(such as enemies) with the shield by pressing the Circle button.

Holding the R3 button should cause a character to crouch.

Flight/hovering for monsters capable of it should be triggered by holding the L1 button.

While moving, superspeed(which should be infinitely usable) for monsters capable of it should be triggered by double-pressing the Triangle button.

After a special ability has been selected, it should be used by pressing the L1 button & the R1 button.

Monsters that are capable of wall-scaling should be able to start wall-scaling by pressing the Circle button while at a climbable object, such as a building.

Each of Kong's finisher moves from the original version of the game should be usable by holding the Down D-Pad button and pressing a specific other button on the controller.

There should be unlockable on/off tweaks, like unlimited use of all tools & special abilities, unlimited health(which, obviously, should not be usable during online play), etc.

The playable character selection screen should be brought up by pressing the Select button, which should also be how map screens, the character bio selection screen, and the on/off tweak selection screen are brought up.

After players beat the story mode for the first time, they should be able to use all of the tools & special abilities they unlock in their first game save when they re-play the story mode, without the difficulty being raised in a new-game-plus-style fashion.

New Kong levels should be added, including a level(which should be put between the levels called "Sacrifice" and "On Kong's Tracks") that picks up at the part where Kong arrives at the wall used by the Skull Islanders and takes Ann with him into the jungle. A new human level should be added in between the levels called "The Log" and "The Skull Islanders", in which Carl, Jimmy, and Hayes fight off monsters that live in the Insect Pit.

Like in "Batman: Arkham Knight", there should be showcase galleries.
