Prevent reduction in pay and annual leave changes for bank staff UHB

This petition is to appose the new changes to temporary staffing pay and annual leave put in place by the University Hospital Birmingham Trust. 
Up until recently the trust was divided into two, The Queen Elizabeth and the Heart of England trusts. This merger has meant that my pay alongside many others has been decreased massively and our annual leave being 'subsided' into our now lower wage. 

A band 2, like myself has seen their Saturday rate fall by nearly 10%, their Sunday rate fall by nearly 20% and their weekly rate increase by around 4%. However, with the annual leave being included into the hourly rate, you must take another 12% off the downfalls. This brings some decreases to a grand total of 32%. 

Weekend Reductions.

Band 2- Saturday/Nights Pre Merger= £13.10 ph
                                       Post Merger= £11.85 ph
                           Sunday Pre-merger= £17.11 ph
                                       Post Merger= £13.74 ph

Band 5 Saturday/ Nights Pre Merge= £18.73 ph
                                      Post Merge= £18.31 ph
                          Sunday Pre Merge= £23.60 ph
                                      Post Merge= £21.23 ph

It is these pay rates which have carried me through university to only continue my career as a nurse within the NHS. I am fortunate enough to be in a circumstance where I have financial support, however I worry these decreases will hurt some of those who are the most vulnerable in our society. This could adversely effect single parents or families who opt to work weekends due to the high cost of child care during the working week. These changes will see an average reduction of £203 a month (4 Saturdays and Sundays a month). 

 Bank Staff (temporary staff) make up a huge amount of NHS workers and are used  to fill short falls on the already severely understaffed wards. As staff we are constantly pushed to extremes with very little gratitude, but we continue to do so because we love our job.
