The most recent being Actress Naya Rivera who went missing on Lake Piru on July 8th, 2020 while boating with her 4 year old son. Her body was found 6 days later on July 13th, 2020. Naya is not the only person who has fallen victim to Lake Piru at least seven individuals have drowned at Lake Piru between the years of 1994 to 2000. Victims of Lake Piru include; 24-year-old Jesus Danilo Carranza who drowned in August of 1994,  Liborio Dominguez who drowned in July of 1997, 22-year-old Isidro Castillo who drowned in September of 1997, 30-year-old Ulises Anthony Mendoza who’s body was discovered in September of 1997, Arthur Raymond Caladara who drowned in February of 1998, 30-year-old Vy Xuan Dang who’s body was found in June of 1998, 25-year-old Eric Cruz who drowned in September of 2000, 9-year-old Denise Arrendondo who drowned in May of 2004, 39-year-old Anatoly Naftoli Smolyansky drowned in a boating accident in August of 2008 his 5-year-old daughter fell off the boat and he jumped in to save her and disappeared beneath the surface of the water, 36-year-old Roberto Barrios drowned in May of 2010, a 28-year-old Piru woman’s body was discovered in September of 2014, 33-year-old Actress Naya Rivera disappeared while swimming with her son her body was found on July 13th, 2020. These are all people who’s life was cut short due to Lake Piru. Swimming at Lake Piru should be 100% banned and anyone who doesn’t follow the ban should fined. Warning signs should also be in place to ensure those who visit know the dangers of Lake Piru. A memorial plaque for those who tragically lost their lives should also be placed at Lake Piru to honors those lives were cut far too short.
