I received the following email from Chris Matthews at United Utilities regarding our petition. In which he mentions a public exhibition for locals to voice their opinions. I'm waiting on a confirmed date from him and will update you all as soon as I have it. "I wanted to drop you a note as I’ve seen that you have started a petition about the future of Cogra Moss. As things stand, we are currently examining two options. The first is to retain the reservoir and carry out work as recommended by the government’s independent panel engineer; the second is to discontinue the reservoir. Our engineering team is now carrying out environmental, ecological and hydrological surveys as well as estimating both options so we can complete a cost benefit analysis assessment for the two options. Our current timeframe is that we will complete these surveys by late August 2015 and once we know all the facts, we will be in a much better place to share our findings with the wider audience and adopt the appropriate solution for Cogra Moss, its ecology and wildlife and its users. We will be carrying out a public exhibition in late September to consult with those affected on our preferred solution and to understand any concerns."
