An abusive father, Shawn Michael Foltz has been sentenced for third degree assault of a victim under four by torturing his two-month old daughter by rubbing hot sauce in her eyes, mouth and nose.

According to The Duluth News Tribune, the abuse occurred over a six-week period from April 10 to May 30, 2017. His methods of abusing the 2-month old baby includes blocking her airway until she turned blue according to WDAY, throwing fireworks at the infant's face, snapping the girl in the face with a towel and used a wooden spoon and a piece of vinyl flooring to hit her on her bottom.

He admitted that while at work he would think of new cruel ways to torture his defenseless daughter and also admitted to targeting her because of how the infant had no capability of telling anyone.

During his trial he is sentenced to a short and inadequate 2.5 years in prison. This is unacceptable. This crime should not be taken lightly because of the irreversible damage he has done to the child and the great possibility of the child abuser re-offending after a short sentence meaning that the child would be at least 3-year-old when he will be released and re-endanger the life of his daughter.

We have to stop this at all costs because his motives clearly had the possibility that the damage he caused would have caused death and he would be able to target other children if he is released. He should also be charged with Attempted Murder for the alleged air smothering.

Please tell Supreme Court to sentence this man to Life In Prison, he should not be allowed to roam free to cause harm to anymore children nor re-victimize his daughter. Sign this petition and tell the Court that people who torment babies and children should not be allowed to roam free again.
