Dear United States Soccer Federation,

This summer when the United States Men's National Team(USMNT) takes the field in Brazil they will not only represent the budding soccer tradition that the United States is starting to produce but rather the culture of the United States as a whole. The jersey that Nike has currently outfitted the USMNT does not represent the patriotism and the pride was so heavily exuded during the 2010 World Cup with the unforgettable blue jerseys featuring the white sash. While it is understandble that this design has worked for many clubs and countries, mainly Real Madrid, this is not how the United States should present themselves this summer. Nike's other sponsorship deals with the Netherlands Football Association and the Croatian Football Association have produced more colorful and nationalistic jersey that characterize both respective countries Nike needs to go back to the drawing board and create something that more readily captures the patriotic fever that is prevalent throughout the United States.
