United States Postal Service carriers are in great danger with the current Pandemic COVID-19. Letter carriers are out in the open, when delivering mail directly to homes and businesses. Letter carriers have to come into direct contact with many possibilities of contracting the highly contagious COVID-19. Many mail pieces are touched and even licked, containing saliva from customers all over the world. Packages are shipped from all over the world, and travel through many hands until the mail reaches the carrier for the last part of the delivery, this is extremely unsafe! Letter carriers are often face to face with customers. Letters carriers also come into contact with mailboxes that have been touched directly by many people daily. Letter carriers also share keys and vehicles with their co-workers. If we are being advised to stay in our homes for safety; letter carriers should be able to stay home for their safety, instead of being forced to work in a global pandemic.
