It is inhumane that live animals are allowed to be shipped in boxes through the US Postal Service. These animals are unable to see or hear what is going on outside of the box they are forced to be inside for unknown amounts of time, and these boxes are often barely big enough for the animal to stand up inside. The animals are forced to live in their own filth until delivery is complete. Just this morning, I witnessed several boxes at my post office that contained live roosters. From one of the boxes, the rooster was crowing every 20 seconds and he sounded distressed. I waited in line and listened to this for over 30 minutes. This is an unacceptable abuse of power of humans over animals.
