Why this petition matters

Specialist Dennis Poulin is a HERO. He deserves this honor. To the 5 year old son and to all the family and friends he left behind - We know there was nothing more important to him than his pride in his country and in his work, while we slept at night he was out there protecting ALL OF US. He did everything he could even after his death to help the living and protect even those he never knew. Dennis was an organ donor, and when he died his sacrifice and altruism helped to save seven other people lives. Help us honor this hero's death and get him the recognition and honor he deserves.

This Massachusetts National Guard soldier died fighting for our country in the "war against terrorism" OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM on March 31, 2011. He was stationed in Afghanistan for the past year and on his way to a mission he was run off the road by an afghan police vehicle. Somehow the government is stating this was all just an accident and is being considered non-combat/non-hostile. Understandably he wasn't shot at and killed but when you are in a country considered enemy territory and are run off the road by hostile parties, that is *NOT* accidental. They are denying this soldier the honor of being recognized with a purple heart medal. His mother is fighting desperately to get this, she won't stop until he gets everything he deserves. Please lend her your support and help by signing this petition to get this soldier his PURPLE HEART. . .
