TAKE THE 5 DAY CHALLENGE IN SEPTEMBER

The Issue

Dear Legislator;

There is one thing teachers, constituents and lawmakers have in common; we all want what is best for the children of this state. Common sense must ask “How can someone govern an educational system of which they have no experience?” Reality cannot be assessed by statistics; it must be seen, heard and felt.

In that spirit, we would like to invite you into the classroom for 5 consecutive days in September. We are challenging you to do your homework before you legislate.

We invite you, challenge you, to step up and do what no one else has done. In September of 2015, spend 5 consecutive days in any classroom in the state. Walk in the shoes of the teachers and students. Only then will you be able to legislate with knowledge and integrity. You earned the vote from your constituents, please now earn our respect.

Sincerely,

A Constituent, Teacher, Maybe Both
