Maximus currently has contracts throughout United States for Child Support Collections, and holds a monopoly on child support enforcement. They are contracted through the individual States to collect child support. Child support orders are being set, and they are NOT enforcing them. Anyone collecting child support through their State system is FORCED to deal with this crooked company. Custodial parents all throughout the United States are tired of waiting, and wondering, when, and if, we will collect our child support, and if the court orders will be upheld. Current child support orders are not being upheld by Maximus, and non-custodial parents are consistently being told by the court system, and Maximus, to simply pay anything, and they will be safe from punishment. We want our child support orders enforced, and Maximus is simply not doing the job they are paid to do, for the citizens of the United States. No more Maximus contracts, and please get them out. The truth is, Maximus purposefully understaffs, and works their employees to death for next to nothing. They make more money by NOT collecting child support, than they do by actually pursuing collections. In 2007, Maximus settled a lawsuit that was filed against them by the Federal Government. The Federal Government discovered that Maximus was involved in Medicaid fraud that totalled 30.5 million dollars. There are many more incidences of fraud including donating to the campaign of Rob Blagojevich. In 1998, the State of Florida hired Maximus for child support collections , and it ended up costing taxpayers $25 for every 3 cents they collected. They underperformed and only collected $162,000 for a 4.5 million dollar contract. This private corporation is out to do one thing, make money. End of story. In the process, taxpayer, parents, and children are suffering. This corporation needs to be stopped, and child support enforcement needs to go back to being handled on a local level, by the Juvenile Court system.
