We can't stop the abomination towards the residents of San Luis Obispo County by the oil and gas owners . We have no choice, we have to stop them in their tracks. The EPA admits that fracking contaminates get into drinking water during all stages of the fracking process. For example: 1. Water withdraws in area of low water availability, when fracking. 2. Or when there are large volumes of water used to inject hydraulic fracking fluid into oil wells. 3. Discharge of inadequately treated fracking wastewater to surface water resources. 4. Disposable storage of fracking wastewater to unlined pits, resulting in contamination of groundwater resources. The Government publicly stated that is not safe to frack and it is not property regulated or monitored at the Federal level to ensure the safety of the environment and its people. In California, we must set the strict standards to stop fracking. The high bloom of Autism, Birth defects , Lou Gehrig's disease and Cancer in San Luis Obispo County does not give us a peace of mind. Our water and land is telling us to stop poisoning it. The Local, State, and Federal Government must wake up to the toxic land and water problems in our communities. We demand equality for all dying residents that will not have a say to live another year or two, because of unhealthy pollution and poisoning of our water. This petition is in honor of their lives and the blatant racism towards residents of this community of San Luis Obispo County. We protect and promote the rights of minority/ indigenous/Spanish people, the economic disadvantage citizens, land restoration, and the inequality that residents are forced to live under. We will get to the mountain top, SI Se Puede. First, they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, and then you win. In honor of all the great leaders Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and Cesar Chavez this month and how they lead us with their courage and commitment to the resistance movement that is manifested a shining light to our cause and so many others around the world, whom are fighting the good fight.
