It is fitting on Earth Day weekend, were the EPA started its roots on April 22nd 1970 not far from San Luis Obispo County, in Santa Barbara County our neighbors. The people around the world amplify their voices to reverberate in the ears of decision makers from the halls of the U.S. Government to the Corporate boardrooms. 20 million American's took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums with one demand. An end to the deadly polluting of our homes, our air, our water. And it worked. Less than a year later the EPA created a sweeping, landmark environmental legislation from the Clean Air Act to the Clean Water Act.
As it still stands today, we need to stop the assaults in your own community and take action against that current policies that help put more pollution in your water, air and land. It is that simple and common sense.
Myself and other change agents from around the world are working to put the responsibility back where it belongs.
In my little part of the world it has become deadly for people and animals, whom are getting sick and dying from the oil spills, cracks and leaks. And air pollution from refineries and oil fields.
We are urging people to help us clean up the corporation's and government agencies that refuse to accept the blame.
Lets be part of a moment that says "enough is enough" and fight back.
Just like the millions that did across the nation on earth day in 1970. Lets strengthens the guidelines that help states minimize smog forming conditions, health damaging emissions from oil and gas infrastructure in mine and many communities across the world, that have dangerous levels of pollution.
The corporations that commit these humanity and environment crimes should be fined or permanently closed down, such as the oil fields and refineries in my own backyard that had oil/gas spills cracks and leaks. In addition to major pollution issues.
As I drive again to my 2nd earth day event this weekend to Santa Barbara and witness the ravages of the 1969 oil spills and unfortunately current years of massive oil spills/damage in Santa Barbara County.
I pause and say to myself will my beloved San Luis Obispo take a heart breaking fall of many massive oil spills offshore and onshore themselves or will we be able to take the bull by the horn and turn the direction of time around.
I'm an optimistic person against all odds that is the story of most people lives that are proactive. We believe in Science * Courageous * Strategic Steps * Faith.
We can choose the way we think, you "NO longer" have to be stuck in a death spiral of pollution, oil/gas spills and lies, so lets go reverse the current narrative and vote out the bad deeds/ bad people that don't care what happens to Mother Earth.
Happy Earth Day, my friends.
