Please sign to demand that the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) do a comprehensive clean up at the Sentinel Peak Resources Oil Company in San Luis Obispo County and Phillips 66 Refinery in Nipomo, CA.
To prevent any more people from getting cancer & other illness. And protect our aquifers in San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County and up and down California from oil spills, cracks and leaks.
The Sentinel Peak Resources Oil Company proposal for 481 new wells and recently extraordinary increased the amount of oil wells/underground pipelines project expansions, that are not scientific in nature.
The increase in spills and leakage adding to the penetrating power and volatility of a train stations that runs through the back of the oil fields and the increase danger of hot weather, located on a earthquake fault-line and if any major car accidents on Price Canyon Road occurs there will be a massive environmental disaster that follows.
In addition to the underground pipeline under the freeway can cause decomposition damage and when that occurs on the freeway with unknowable volatile forces of nature or etc. it will not be a pretty site.
The determination of the amount of expansions to Nipomo City Park, which is the resting place for the underground pipeline project. The Phillips 66 Oil Company has not cleaned up the old spill that occurred in the Nipomo Creek near Dana Adobe, the spill entered into the groundwater.
Scott Miller, the inspector from EHSD "We don't see many that big" of oil spills. The remediation would be a long and complex process and Santa Barbara County had their fair share of Oil Spills/Underground Pipeline leaks throughout the years.
We do not want another environment trade - off in the Nipomo City Park near people's homes and businesses for the greedy oil field owners and the alleged speculation that San Luis Obispo County will rent Nipomo City Park to the oil field companies and obtain massive royalties monies.
This act is a major conflict of interest to the citizens of both Counties. We demand a open- door policy on all transactions of this proportion to the public immediately.
The oil field owners can not rule the day. The citizens health and well being is what counts, beyond any amount of money the County may profit on.
The communities near both oil fields in San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County hang in the balance everyday, waiting for a clean - up effort and urging the Federal Government to intervene and demand that DTSC and the Federal EPA step in.
And save the public from lost of lives, property and prevention of contaminant drinking resources and stop a financial disaster from happening to the folks near the oil fields in both Counties of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.
A lot of folks are selling their homes prior to the underground pipeline project in Nipomo. People are not getting the fair market value on their homes and appeals with be the only avenue for some folks.
In spite of all work done to remove contaminated sites all over both Counties. There are still many more large plumes under the ground that will be environmentally damaging to excavated and the hidden damages can last for decades. Occasionally, these trapped gases beneath the surface can crack and the gas seeps out of the ground.
A citizen reported oil bubbling up to the San Luis Tribune Newspaper about this occuring at the Tank Farm Road site. Even if the pockets of oil/gas are exposed the method of out-gassing can lead to permanent holes in the surface called bug-holes and that can compromise the structural integrity of the soil.
Beware to new redevelopment investment opportunities and banks that loan monies for this project. Another Superfund/ Brownfield site in the making, selling at a cheap, fast and quick payback rate. With liability issues and enforcement tools are on your mind everyday for a lifetime.
Why bother, invest in the coffee shop down the street that purifies their water.
The Oilfield and Refineries standards are not enough to protect homeowners, nearby business and oil field workers. The State Regulars have not conducted a legally required economic analysis of applying safety mandates to the Oil Industry and OSHA had backed down from enforcing the "Process Safety Management Standards" requirements.
Yet the Oil Industry insist existing regulations safeguards are enough. In the meantime, oil workers are dying at a increase rate. Sinkholes are become a common death trap at oil fields for workers. Case in point is the sudden death of Robert David Taylor in Kern County.
Long waits for safety standards may be fine, for the Oil Industry to come up to date with safety compliances for their workers and the communities that are located near them.
In the meantime, I unequivocally stand behind these workers rights to have a safe and secure work-site.
Therefore, starting today we must not leave businesses and homeowners bankrupted and fleeting from their homes and businesses. Having no choice but to sue the County, EPA and precious/present owners for damages.
As stated in this highlighted case below.

The Major Oil Spills and Contaminant is these 2 Counties are massive.
The First Major Oil Spill in Santa Barbara, is what sparked the green revolution in California in 1969.
49 years later and really nothing has changed much!!!!
Below is a list of massive oil spills and fires that the Central Coast will not forget.
1. The 1969 Santa Barbara Oil Spill
2. Refugio State Beach Oil Spill
3. The Tank Farm Road Fire and Oil Spill
4. Guadalupe Oil Spill
5. Avila Beach Oil Spill
6. Phillips 66 Oil Spill
7. OffShore Morro Bay Oil Spill
8. Price Canyon Road Oil Spill that had a fire raging out of control in the Pismo Beach Creek leading to the ocean.
9. The many Superfund/Brownfield sites all over this County and in Santa Barbara County as well, our close neighbors.
As everyone would agree that nobody wants to live like this, in oil spill/underground pipeline disasters areas.
Do the right thing EPA and reject the increase wells request, expansions request and underground pipeline project. And oppose the OffShore drilling/fracking off the coast and ending the renewing of gas leases in San Luis Obispo County. Instead begin a plan for renewable energy.
We have plenty of solar farms in this County and the prices have been reduced on renewable energy. It sounds like a win/win deal for both sides.
And finally for God's sake do a comprehensive inspect on both Sentinel Peak Resources in San Luis Obispo County and Phillips 66 in Nipomo, CA.
This County deserves the truth on all the close door meetings from the County Officials, Water Department and the EPA recommendation and the last but not least is the current up- to - date comprehensive evaluation and reports of both Sentinel Peak Resources and Phillips 66 Refinery.
Its our lives, properly and water resources.... we are talking about folks. Be honest and be fast and don't obstructed the truth.
