The Issue
In 2013, over 32,000 US drivers and passengers died in car accidents. Many could have been saved if they were to wear a seat belt. And this rate continues to rise as new drivers enter the roads.
19 of the 50 states do not have a primary seat belt law that allows police officers to pull drivers over when seat belts are not used. This primary law promotes individuals to wear a seat belt and therefore, promotes safety.
