Petition for 4-way Stop at Hess Blvd and Senilis Ave in Morongo Valley

The Issue

I'm writing this petition for the people of Morongo Valley, Ca, to make the intersection of Hess Blvd and Senilis Ave a 4-way stop!

This town is beautifully nestled within the Mojave Desert, and the folks that live here appreciate the beauty, as well as the safety this little town brings. However, there is a danger lurking, that, I'm sure, the residents of Morongo Valley know all too well. That danger, is the intersection of Hess Blvd and Senilis Ave. This may sound benign, but there have been countless accidents at that intersection. It's a 2-way stop at Hess Blvd, that seems to confuse many of the people, residents and non-residents alike. Especially at night, as there are zero lights in this little town. Hess Blvd is the street that leads to Morongo Valley Elementary School. Children walk this road daily, risking their lives when they encounter the intersection. It is also the main thoroughfare in and out of town.

I recently succumbed to the dangers of this intersection. An out of town individual was stopped at the Hess Blvd stop sign. I had the right-of-way, as I was proceeding east on Senilis Ave, through the intersection, he proceeded to go. I got hit, spun 180 degrees, air bags deployed, luckily, I only sustained minor injuries. The individual came right to my car and stated "Oh gosh, I thought it was a 4-way stop!"

Please help me by signing this petition to make the intersection of Hess Blvd and Senilis Ave a 4-way stop, to make our little Morongo Valley a safer place.
