Stop all actions that support the construction of Keystone XL Pipeline

This petition had 226 supporters

YOU should support this action in order to PREVENT environmental damages and destruction of Aboriginal communities across Canada and the United States.

Currently, a proposed idea for a second major oil transmission pipeline running from Alberta down to Texas, is pending.

We have already seen dangerous leaks and spills from the first Keystone XL Pipeline, why risk so many dangerous effects on the environment , animals and communities?

Although the pros of the project are more jobs and money, the long term effects would be a disaster. The development of the tarsands means over 4 million hectars of forest must be cutt, contamination of underground and surface water supplies and destruction of natural habitats. The pipeline itself will cause damages by being constructed through numerous Aborignial communities meaning they are most vulnerable to spills and leaks; the first Keystone pipeline has already experienced fourteen so far.

Our efforts should be directed at preserving our environments' non-renewable resources and protecting human rights that this pipeline threatens.
