Joel Schwartz attorney at Law goes head on against Lincoln County again on Thursday in the Framing of Tom Wilkerson! The Case is scheduled in front of the Missouri Court of Appeals. We have spoken of the Wilkersons many times in the past. Judge Mennemeyer sentenced him to 23 years for a four swat spanking he could not have given since he was at work. A man can not be in two places at one time. The cash that flowed into the county from this framing from the Federal Safe Families Act is obscene. Here is a letter from his daughter explaining what happened:
I am the daughter of a victim of Lincoln County. My Dad who has never harmed a living being, devoted his life to his children, foster children, his grandchildren, and his wife, has been sentenced with 23 years and incarcerated for crimes that he did not commit. He spends his days in a tiny cell at the Jefferson City Correctional Center, located ironically on No More Victims Rd. Let me tell you our story.
My Dad moved us to middle Tennessee when I was a young girl of 7 years old. He was the Father that every child dreamed of, raising my brother and me outdoors, building us tree houses, forts, and elaborate zip lines that we learned to navigate fearlessly. He took us rock climbing and rappelling. He loved challenging himself to create fun and adventure for his children and for our friends who begged to come to our house. Every minute that we were not doing school work at home or exploring the outdoors, we spent with him in his shop where he would and could create anything he put his mind to. I spent hours sitting, watching him work, and talking to him. He was never impatient with my endless questions. At his side, I learned everything I know about life.
Although my parents had always wanted a big family and dreamed of having many children, they only were able to have two, my brother and me. When we were teenagers, they decided to go into foster care as a family. They took classes, and before we knew it, we had dozens of children coming in and out of our home. The children were often damaged emotionally, physically abused, and arrived scared and helpless. But only 10 minutes with Mr. Wilkerson, and they were relaxed and smiling. They sensed his gentleness, his care for them, and warmed up very quickly. My family lavished them with love and filled their lives with peace, adventure, and carefree joy that every child should experience. By the time they went back to the Social Service office, they were happy, confident children. It was painful watching them cry as they begged to stay with the my family.
I got married at 20 years old and moved to Missouri where my husband lived. My family also moved to Missouri soon after that and settled in Lincoln county. They found out about a family of four children from Joplin, Missouri, and quickly fell in love with them. It is hard for a family of this size to find a home that would take all four, so they had been in the system for quite some time by the time we met them. My parents were cleared to adopt immediately, due to their excellent reputation with foster care, and we went from a family of four to a family of eight overnight, much to everybody's delight.
Five years later we found ourselves in a living hell at the hands of Lincoln County Missouri. Leah Askey, Judge Mennemeyer, and the entire Lincoln County judicial system framed my Dad for child abuse that he did not commit. They ganged up against my parents to remove the children. My Dad, Tom Wilkerson, was given permission to spend hours of quality unsupervised time with the children even after they were removed, and he spent that time comforting them and trying to explain to them why they had been forcibly removed from his home and put back into the foster care system. This time spent with them was what the Lincoln County courts later turned on him, and slapped him with "witness tampering." The children begged in tears, to be allowed to go back to the Wilkerson's, but their voices were not heard. They were told over and over that they had been abused, and their parents did not love them. These precious children, who had been diagnosed with attachment disorders, had become attached to my parents. However, if you take children like this away from their loving environment long enough, and tell them things like that, it will eventually sink in, and they disconnect once again.
It takes only a rudimentary knowledge of the foster care system to understand why Lincoln County was so determined to process the children through the courts. The amount of money they gain from this horrific transaction with the lives of these innocent children is phenomenal and only shows what great corruption Lincoln County is steeped in.
My Mom was forced to plead guilty, with threats of many years in prison if she did not plead guilty. And she was told if she did plead guilty, she would be allowed out of prison after 120 days. Although four long months seemed unthinkable and was totally undeserved, it seemed small in comparison to many years. She pled guilty since she had no choice. And she served those four long months in prison.
However, my Dad, Tom Wilkerson, was advised to plead NOT guilty, since he was at work every day that the alleged abuse happened. But because his trial was not based on truth, he was convicted and sentenced anyway, and he is now in prison for 23 years, simply because he did not plead guilty to crimes he did not commit. My Dad who came home every day from work and played with the children all evening, spending all his spare time and energy on their wellbeing and healing, is now sitting in a tiny cell, no bigger then a closet, with another man and is only allowed to move when commanded to. This strong, gentle man, incarcerated with murderers and rapists, simply because of the greedy, corrupt court system in Lincoln County.
My Dad, Tom Wilkerson is innocent. He does not deserve this inhumane treatment, all because Leah Askey and Judge Mennemeyer are greedy, corrupt, and hungry for power and decided to make an example of my Dad because there was no one to stop them. There is so much money involved in removing children from their homes and putting them into the foster system. This only serves to feed their appetites which are never satisfied. The children's well being was never the focus, only money and more money.
I am writing this with the hope that our voices will finally be heard and that we can help others whose innocent lives have been destroyed by the corrupt Lincoln County justice system. They do not care about you, your children, or the children in your town. They care only about money and winning. Justice is not served, and we the people must stop them before they ruin more of our children's lives. Someone must fight for the children and the innocent, because they do not care and they will continue this until they are stopped.
We at Citizens to Stop Lincoln County Corruption want to make sure that everyone who has signed the Petition and who is reading this knows that Russ and Betsy Faria are not the only victims of the crooked Lincoln County Judicial System. There are many hurting families and children. These families were wrecked for the financial incentives of the Safe Families Act. We believe that Rod Barnhill was one of the great orchestrators of this injustice and he like Leah Askey and Chris Kunza Mennemeyer should be held accountable. We also believe that somehow this money is filtering through to those who perpetrate these false convictions. We will continue to fight for Justice for all of the victims of Lincoln County. We promise to keep you updated on our continuing battle to clean up Lincoln County Corruption and stop the framing of innocent people.
