Thousands of records detailing animal welfare violations have been erased from the USDA's website. These records, which were once available to the public, exposed the abuse and maltreatment of animals by commercial animal facilities nationwide. These facilities include, but are not limited to, zoos, laboratories, circuses, and animal breeders. Now hidden, they are only accessible upon official request to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which could take months to process. These innocent animals do not have months to wait.
