Horse Slaughter is a cruel inhumane way for people to get rid of unwanted horses. Even though horses are not being slaughtered in the United States, over 140,000 horses are being slaughtered each year in foreign countries. This needs to stop. Not only does slaughtering horses hurt the horses, the meat hurts us too. The dangerous chemicals given to horses over their life time are dangerous for us to eat and can make us very sick. The Safeguard American Food Exports Act will stop horses from being sent over country borders to be slaughtered therefore saving us and more importantly, the horses.
