Big, big deal.
After your support, we successfully petitioned the USDA to fix the definition for Pasture Raised Chicken. It was super successful, and will have decades of impact on land, animal, and consumer.
But there was one big problem...
USDA doesn't regulate eggs. That's the FDA's job.
Fake Pasture Raised Eggs represent a $2 BILLION market chock full of greenwashing.
Birds living indoors for 98-100% of their lives and their eggs being sold at a premium for "Pasture Raised".
Some of these birds have never touched an actual pasture in their entire lives.
So a group of 1,300 Pastured Poultry Farmers said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
They rallied together and filed a Citizen Petition to the FDA to clean up egg labeling, requiring chickens to actually be raised on pasture if they are labeled that way.
Now they need your help, and the good thing is it takes about 15 seconds.
Would you head over to this link and let them know you support this petition and think that Pasture Raised Eggs should come from Chickens Raised on Pasture?
For this to be successful, they'll need thousands of comments in support of the petition.
Let's keep driving change in transparency and truth in labeling! Our farmers and consumers deserve it.
