The factory farming industry treats animals more like products than living things. Billions of animals are slaughtered every year in the United States and around the world, and more often than not, these animals live out their short lives in cramped, filthy, unhealthy, and abusive conditions. We the consumers have more power than we often realize over the the factory farm industry and the way that they treat their livestock. Cows, chickens, pigs, and other beings have every right to live their lives with freedom and dignity, and the farming industry is beyond capable of providing them with such. Therefore, it is up to the consumers to demand change. If people continue to buy meat and dairy products on such a wide scale, and they never speak up on behalf of the animals, then the abuse will never end.

We ask that the United States Department of Agriculture take greater responsibility over the farming industry, and do more to regulate the treatment of livestock. The government has the power to control farming corporations throughout the United States, and if we the people ask for change, then progress will become a possibility.
