This petition is to try and inform you guys that deforestation and wildlife extinction is a serious issue and it has to be known to the people in a higher power. We are high-school seniors in Camden Academy Charter High School and this is created for our AP Environmental Science project to allow people to learn environmental issues like these and what we can do. The forests and trees have developed, providing homes for wildlife and the reason why the Earth is living. Deforestation is a serious issue especially if it puts so many lives at risk and the survival of this world. According to the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), there is an estimate of 18 million acres of forest that has been cut down each year. Wildlife extinction rates are drastically increasing, according to experts of the loss of species are 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the natural extinction rate (.1% of all species will become extinct per year). They are referring to this as the 6th extinction crisis. Help spread the word and try to get the attention to be more known, make a difference. We have to save the world from dying and other issues that are leading to its destruction.

• Using palm oil
• Overpopulation
• Commercial agriculture 

So what can you do?

• Adopt more sustainable habits, for example: reduce meat consumption and purchase local produce
