All animals deserve a full and meaningful life. They do not deserve to be subjected to tiny confinements where they can't turn around. They don't deserve to have the tips of their beaks cut off. They don't deserve to have their babies snatched from them just days after birth. They don't deserve to be disposed of via a meat grinder just because they're not considered to be profitable, like male baby chicks in the chicken/egg industries. They don't deserve to be deprived of everything that's natural to them.

All animals deserve to see the light of day, to not be subjected to pain and fear every single day of their lives, as they are the most innocent among us. We, as humans, have the power to put a stop to this cruelty. 

Additionally, animal agriculture yields huge detriments to our environment - breeding livestock is the cause of more than 50% of greenhouse gases. It causes an unfathomable amount of pollution, deforestation, and destruction of habitats. Without these habitats, our entire ecosystem stands to be threatened. Due to over-fishing and pollution, it has been projected that we will start seeing fishless oceans by the year 2050, which is terrifying. 

Finally, the workers employed by these factory farms to hurt animals are continuously encouraged to ignore their own humanity. They are forced to commit horrendous acts, work in disgusting conditions, and this undoubtedly has a huge effect of their mental health. Among those employees are illegal immigrants, former convicts, and those without the education or means to find a more humane job. They are quite literally stuck, as employment is hard to come by for them. 

Is profit really more important than the environment, animal welfare, and the welfare of our fellow humans? I don't think so either. The horror of factory farms has gone on long enough. Please end it.
