The Animal Welfare Act is the only national law that regulates animal abuse. This law, however, has many loopholes that are exploited. 3 major gaps include the exclusion of rats and mice (the majority of research animals), the exclusion of animals that are raised for food, and the exclusion of online retailers like puppy mills. These organizations don't have to follow basic care standards set by the government, and thousands of animals are suffering because of this. Please show support for these animals, as they don't have a voice of their own, so we must speak for them.
