Revoke the U.S. Merchant Marine Act of 1920 (also known as the Jones-Shafroth Act), for Puerto Rico:
The Issue
The Jones act prohibits free enterprise for the island of Puerto Rico. If the Jones act is revoked Puerto Rico would be able to trade with its neighbors and be able to negotiate better freight charges from any country and would no longer incur the highest freight charges of all the Americas. The island would be on an equal footing with the USA and eventually our stagnate economy would recover allowing us to prosper and rebuild our economy.
