The St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is considering a proposal that will allow hydroblasting, demonstrated in this video, to be conducted in the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve in Volusia County, FL. Initial review by the United States Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) resulted in a rejection of the application.  Regardless of that rejection, the SJRWMD is still considering approval of the proposal. REQUEST FOR PUBLIC HEARING: We are concerned that such activities will have detrimental consequences on the water quality in the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve as well as the Indian River Lagoon.
