Thank you to everyone who signed the petition in support of global action on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) for helping to make it such a success!
The UN High-level Meeting on AMR was very productive and resulted in a UN Declaration on AMR which outlines the principles agreed upon during the negotiations on how to move to combat AMR internationally. Our next step is to make sure the goals set forth in the Declaration are achieved.
To further the cause of AMR with lawmakers, the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) in conjunction with the US Stakeholder Forum on Antimicrobial Resistance (S-FAR) is working on a report called the Faces of Antibiotic Resistance, or FOAR. In order to help policymakers, media, and others understand the real life impact of antimicrobial resistance, FOAR is collecting stories from patients and family members directly impacted by antimicrobial resistant infections and publishing them in a report.
If you or someone you know may be willing to share their story in the FOAR report, please follow the link to provide your contact information so a member of the IDSA staff can get in contact with you about your story.
