I am a Malaysian who is deeply concerned about the forest fire in Indonesia specifically Sumatra and Kalimantan. This forest fire had been started as early as September 2015 but it is not over yet till now. With large amount of forest are burning, it creates haze that affects the neighbouring countries, my home country, Malaysia and Singapore. Haze will threaten the public health such that about 3 millions people died prematurely around the globe each year due to air pollution according to World Health Organization. In Malaysia, it experienced severe haze level that the authority requested the school to be closed down for 3-4 days in a week and this showed that haze slow down a country development progress. On the other hand, animals like orangutan that lives in the forest either suffered from death or loss of habitat. All I request is can other nations willing to give a hand to save this forest fire. Another purpose of this petition is to raise awareness globally because I found out that this forest fire in Indonesia was not highlighted in major western media. Perhaps, the ordinary citizens outside of South East Asia may not aware of this forest fire. With this petition, I hope United Nation will call out for help from other countries to give a hand to put out this forest fire. In the past, school closure only last for 1-2 days a year due to haze but this year, school closure in Malaysia happened at least 1 day per week.
