The Yoruba party has done three noteworthy things since its birth in 2024:
1. Elections. YPUK took part in the UK 2024 general elections fielding a candidate for the London Peckham Constituency. The party is currently recruiting candidates for the 2026 local government elections.
2. Awareness campaigns. Throughout 2025, YPUK published several articles on social media and on its website: www.yorubapartyuk.org The party held an open townhall meeting every Tuesday night on zoom; switching to Clubhouse in 2026. The party participated in several media events including the 2025 Black History month.
3. Litigation. YPUK took the UK government to the London Administrative court because of their frustration of the 1888 Britain-Yorubaland Treaty. This was a non-cession treaty of friendship and preferential trade that Queen Victoria, as Head of Great Britain, and Alaafin Adeyemi, as Head of Yorubaland, signed on 23 July 1888. Britain ignored this treaty and in 1914 unlawfully incorporated into the country of Nigeria, the Yorubaland that it had in 1888 recognised as an independent sovereign State under international law.
