We have been informed that the Ambassador of Israel to the United Kingdom, Tzipi Hotovely, is scheduled to appear at a private event at the University of Nottingham this Friday, 22 March 2024.

Tzipi Hotovely is the official representative of a state that is carrying out genocide on Palestine. She is an outspoken opponent of Palestinian rights and has repeatedly called into question the right of Palestine to exist at all. In our opinion, she is not only an apologist for genocide but is someone who has made statements that incite genocide.

As such we strongly object to Tzipi Hotovely's potential presence in Nottingham and demand that the University of Nottingham withdraws any invitation.

We strongly encourage the people of Nottingham, including staff and students at the University of Nottingham, to express their opposition. In particular, we encourage people to contact the office of the Vice Chancellor to politely but firmly make their objections:
