Over 200 Children Killed in Gaza School Attack

In a devastating turn of events today, more than 200 people, predominantly children, lost their lives in a tragic attack on a school sheltering Palestinian refugees in Gaza. The unfolding catastrophe in Gaza has resulted in a staggering toll of 33,000 Palestinians, combining both the injured and the deceased, with 12,300 confirmed deaths and the destruction of tens of thousands of homes.

The Israeli army's involvement in over 1,300 massacres since the onset of the war has taken an appalling toll, particularly affecting children and women. Approximately 45% of Gaza's residences lay in ruins, and UNRWA personnel operate in constant peril, with over 60% of their offices in central and southern Gaza targeted, despite assurances of safety. The healthcare system in Gaza teeters on the brink of collapse, with only 10 out of 36 hospitals operational, as highlighted by the Director-General of the World Health Organisation.

Amidst this dire situation, an urgent plea echoes for an immediate and enduring ceasefire. The Israeli army's actions extend to the abduction of 130 bodies and the destruction of vital medical equipment at Shifa Hospital, where more than 50 lives have been claimed since the incursion.
In the West Bank, relentless clashes persist as the Israeli army relentlessly invades cities and villages. Heightened tensions and on-the-ground confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli military, coupled with ongoing airstrikes in Gaza, have resulted in over 200 deaths and thousands injured in various West Bank areas. Thousands more have been detained since the inception of the Gaza war.

Over the past 43 days, the Israeli occupation has unleashed a destructive war on Gaza, with a devastating toll of over 12,300 lives lost, including 5,000 children and 3,300 women. The number of missing individuals has surged to over 3,750, including 1,800 children still trapped beneath the rubble. The Israeli army reports the deaths of six officers and soldiers in Gaza, bringing the total military casualties since October 7 to 379, based on official army data.
