As the world watches silently, Somalis in Ethiopia are facing heart breaking violence, killing, and displacement out of their lands in the hands of the Ethiopian federal forces and ethnic militias aligned with the current administration.  So far, the death toll has topped 1,500 people while over 350,000 people have been displaced out of their homes.  The killings and displacement of the ethnic Somali group in Ethiopia keeps on trickling in on a daily basis and the situation is getting worse.  Barbaric killing of innocent men, women, elderly, children and girls gang-raped by armed militias aligned with the current administration have become rampant in the Somali region of Ethiopia. Images of decapitated bodies, heads cut off from their bodies, are floating on social media platforms.  The situation is extremely dire and widespread.

The cities that have been impacted by this gruesome violence include: Tulli-Guuleed, Dire Dawa, Babille, Moyale, Walgo, Balbayti and many more.

We demand the United Nations Office of Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to take charge in putting a stop to the violence committed against ethnic Somalis in Ethiopia and to immediately return the displaced to their homes. We also demand the UN Office of Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to hold accountable Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his administration for the ethnic cleansing Somalis are facing in Ethiopia.  We further demand the US government to hold accountable the US citizen individuals responsible for inciting violence and furthering the human rights violations committed against ethnic Somalis in Ethiopia.
