TPNPBNEWS. An update for today, 14 July 2018, with the latest on the situation in Alguru Village, Headquarters of TPNPB. The situation remains tense and the Indonesian army and police are still on a state of alert. This is happening while various parties, in particular military and police officials, are now giving their own version of the story to justify their presence in the area, in relation to the military operations in Alguru Village. So I, Egianus Kogoya, Field Operations Commander of the Ndugama Regional Defense Command (Kodap) III, of the TPNPB National Command, firmly state the following with regards to all the claims and allegations by various parties: 1. It is true that on 11 July 2018 as a consequence of the bombing of the Alguru Headquarters of the Ndugama Regional Defense Command (Kodap) III, fifty (50) civilians fled into the jungle. At the same time, I lost contact with seven of my men. 2. The Indonesian Air Forces used four (4) helicopters: two on standby at the capital city, one (1) helicopter troop carrier. The bottom part of one of the helicopters was black; it was the one that carried the bomb which was released from the air. I myself am an eyewitness. We reject the statements by the Indonesian Military and Police officers. The statements made by the Military Officers and the Indonesian Police in the Indonesian media are a public deception. 3. Up until today, 14 July 2018 I have lost contact with two of my men; up until now I have not heard from them. Because of this, I suspect they were hit by the bombs. That is why it is necessary for the Indonesian Government to announce and confirm these bombings occurred, so that I can retrieve and secure their bodies. If not, I will search in the forest, and will inevitably also face the danger of new air raids. 4. If the Indonesian military has conducted these raids but does not recognize it, then it will be a big problem for the military and police officials. Non-Papuans will not feel safe in this area. 5. I sincerely hope that the Government of Indonesia will open access to foreign journalists, the International Red Cross and international human rights observers so that they may enter into Alguru to investigate. 6. The Indonesian Government considers me as an armed separatist criminal, this is an outright public deception. I ask only for the recognition and respect of our right to self-determination. 7. All the information regarding our activities should not be twisted into lies about looking for a lucrative business. On the contrary, our struggle is a legitimate one, conducted by means of our army, which is the genuine TPNPB, from the inside to the outside, and with a clear chain of command within the OPM-TPN. 8. I will not retreat one single step, therefore the Government of Indonesia should immediately withdraw its troops from Ndugama and Alguru Village. 9. The United Nations should send a team to West Papua, as soon as possible, and in particular to the region of Ndugama, to see with their own eyes the barbaric acts that have been perpetrated so far by the Indonesian military and police in West Papua. 10. I also call upon all other regions in West Papua to immediately engage in war and not to just stand by and watch. We have been oppressed and colonized by Indonesia for too long. 11. I, Egianus Kogoya, as Field Operations Commander, firmly convey to the Indonesian army and police that the civilians in the cities should not be intimidated or harmed, in particular my people from the Nduga communities. This is my official statement, taken today in the jungle where we have taken refuge, Alguru, Ndugama in West Papua. 14 July 2018 EGIANUS KOGEYA ======= /// ====== Field Operations Commander Ndugama Regional Defense Command III (Kodap III Ndugama) By TPNPB News Crew A copy of a short recording is attached: voice of Egianus Kogeya, Field Operations Commander for the Ndugama Regional Defense Command III (Kodap III Ndugama), stating repeatedly that he will stay where he is, and not retreat one single step, until the independence of West Papua is achieved, no matter what it takes.
