UNITED AS ONE | MASSIVE MENTAL HEALTH FUNDRAISING EVENT | CHARITY-SUICIDE&CO
The Issue
Mental health is one of the biggest problems and we are not talking i feel a little anxious right now this has been on going since the start of time.
More than ever because of the world how it is right now and the absolute lack of help which is causing so much pain to family’s, friends and even the one that read the facebook post.
I felt this pain first in 2021 when my older brother took his own life aged 31, the age i am now which feels weird as he is, was and always still will be to me.
I have noticed and have seen every flaw and crack in the system, also the large number of contacts who tell me the truth about the system which has failed so many people.
I don’t want to go into to much detail but i have evidence of how bad the services are, this is not the staffs fault but the government who do not care on bit as to them we are nothing but this will change.
I can be very honest and open which is a hard thing to do, i have tried to take my own life 3 times. I have adhd and ocd which cause a lot of problems and i suffer with addiction problems which privately cost around £35,000 from 2 rehabs.
MY MISSION
- TO RAISE MONEY FOR AN INCREDIBLE CHARITY INCLUDING HAVING THE PERSONAL HEART BREAKING LETTERS FROM FAMILY MEMBERS PUT ALL AROUND THE NORTH EAST AND FURTHER.
- TO HEP SUICIDE & CO GROW AND BE ABLE TO HELP AT A LARGER SCALE.
- TO STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS AS HUMANS WITH MENTAL NEEDS NOT JUST PHYSICAL.
- TO DO MY BEST IN HELPING OTHERS AND CREATING SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THE ONES WE HAVE LOST AND WILL LOSE.
- TO CHANGE THE FAILED SYSTEM AND TO MAKE MY BROTHER STEPHEN AND ALL THE OTHER SOULS WHO LEFT A LITTLE TO SOON
The charity which i have heard via a friends mum who both lost a loved one to suicide mentioned and i cant express how much i notice a difference they make and the services they offer.
Suicide & Co - Helpline 0800 054 8400
Our Mission
To support bereaved individuals and open the conversation around suicide-related grief.
Bereavement in all forms can be traumatic, however suicide often brings a range of added emotions to navigate.
The team’s passion for helping others deal with this specific type of grief comes from a variety of personal experience of losing a loved one to suicide. It all started with our co-founders, Amelia and Emma, who both lost a parent to suicide. With their entrepreneurial spirit and empathetic nature, this double act is determined to do things differently; providing the support needed whilst also opening up the conversation and addressing the stigma.
We strongly believe in the power of conversation and use a variety of initiatives to spark conversations and encourage open dialogues around bereavement from suicide and mental health more generally. In terms of the services we provide, we focus on one-on-one professional support through talking therapies offering our Counselling Service and Helpline that are staffed by bereavement counsellors.
There are also lots of resources on our website for you to explore that can support different aspects of your grief journey (e.g. books and podcast recommendations).
We’re glad you’ve found us and whatever your situation we hope we can support you today.
ALL DETAILS ARE TO BE CONFIRMED IN FEBRUARY AND ITS GOING TO BE BIG!
